Work We Turn Down
We don't touch commercial rolling steel doors or fire-rated doors - that's a different trade with its own code requirements, and we'd rather send you to someone who does it daily than guess. We also won't quote a repair over the phone sight unseen when a door has been hit by a car or pulled off its tracks; those jobs need eyes on the hardware before anyone can say what's bent versus broken. If your opener is a decades-old chain-drive unit with a burned-out logic board and the manufacturer stopped making replacement boards years ago, we'll tell you straight that a new opener costs less than chasing down a part.
We don't do custom fabrication - if you want a one-off carriage-style door built to a size nobody stocks, that's a specialty shop's work, not ours. And we won't sell you a full door replacement when a $30 roller and a cable are the actual problem. A lot of the houses out here went up between 1956 and 1997, median around 1976, and plenty of those original doors are still structurally fine - they just need the moving parts serviced, not the whole panel replaced.
The Work We Take On
Most of what we see is tied directly to the age of the housing stock. Across the 16 named areas that make up this side of the county, the bulk of homes date to the 1960s and 70s, and that means original torsion springs sized for panel weights and door widths that newer stock doesn't use. We replace those springs, service the drums and cables that go with them, and swap out rollers and hinges that have worn past the point of adjustment.
We work on openers of every age, from the original chain-drive units still hanging in some of these garages to newer belt-drive models, and we handle broken tracks, off-track doors, and dented or cracked panels. The mild temperate climate here is easy on garage doors compared to places with real freeze-thaw cycles, so we don't chase the ice-related seal failures other regions deal with - but wood-frame doors from the 1960s-70s era do show rot at the bottom panel after enough seasons, and that's a repair we do regularly. We serve homeowners from Newbury Park, about 2 miles to the WSW, out through Oak Park, Westlake Village, and the rest of this service area.
How to Reach Us
Call 18059267965 and tell us what the door is doing - grinding, stuck halfway, opener clicking but not lifting, whatever it is. That's enough for us to tell you roughly what's wrong before a truck ever leaves. Our address is 420 Pennsfield Pl, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, and we work jobs throughout the surrounding service area rather than just the immediate neighborhood.
If you'd rather start online, visit our site for more on how we work. We don't run a 24-hour dispatch line, so if you call outside normal hours, leave a message and we'll get back to you when we're open - for a door that's stuck open overnight, block the opening as best you can until we can get out there.
