Work We Turn Down
We don't quote sight-unseen on anything structural. If a panel is caved in, if the door came off the track and bent the frame, or if you're not sure whether the opener or the springs failed, that's a job we need to see in person before a number means anything. Phone quotes work fine for a broken spring on a standard double door or a like-for-like opener swap, because those parts and labor don't vary much house to house.
They stop working the moment there's rust damage to the track, a custom or oversized door, or a wall that's out of square from a settling foundation. A lot of the housing stock in this area went up between 1956 and 1997, with most of it dating to the 1960s and 70s, so we run into original hardware and non-standard rough openings more than you'd think. We also don't price roof-mounted commercial doors or anything outside residential garage doors and openers.
If your call is really about a gate, a shed door, or something structural to the house itself, we'll tell you plainly rather than guess a number and miss it by half.
The Work We Take On
We work on residential garage doors and openers, torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and panel sections, on homes across the Thousand Oaks area and the nearby communities we cover: Newbury Park, Santa Rosa Valley, Lake Sherwood, Westlake Village, Oak Park, and Moorpark, plus the outlying towns further out along that corridor. Most of the doors we replace parts on were installed when the house was built, and with median construction here landing around 1976, that means a lot of original one-piece and sectional doors on hardware that isn't sold new anymore. We size and match to what's actually on the wall rather than push a generic replacement.
The mild temperate climate here doesn't put the stress on doors that ice, heavy snow load, or coastal salt air does elsewhere, so failures tend to come from age and use rather than weather. That said, we don't carry every obsolete part on the truck, and a hardware match for an older door can mean a short wait rather than a same-day fix. We'll tell you that up front instead of promising a fix we can't deliver that day.
